1: What has been your biggest contribution to the field of home interiors in Bangalore?
Fabmodula, top interior designers in Bangalore has been creating spaces for almost two decades. The value addition along with the design concepts that we were able to add in every project of ours is our biggest achievement and pride.
2: If you had the chance, what change do you wish to bring about for women in the workforce, business, and households in India?
I believe that we have a long way to go to achieve gender equality and women's empowerment. Now, in this journey, I would actively try to engage men also in the part of the conversation. Engaging men in this conversation would help to break down gender stereotypes and promote equality amongst genders which would accelerate the change that we are looking for in women in the workforce, business, and households.
3: What motivated you to join FabModula or the interior design industry?
Fabmodula, the best interior designing company in Bangalore has been creating spaces for almost 2 decades. Being a part of a company with a vision to focus on the design-engineering aspect alongside keeping the functionality in mind and yet providing customized solutions was beyond inspiring.
4: What challenges have you faced in the interior design industry as a women?
This is something I have observed happen to me and my female colleagues as well. It’s this perceived lack of competence. Women face the perception that they are less competent than their male counterparts. Hence in male-dominated industries, women struggle a little bit more to gain visibility and recognition.
5: How do you stay updated about the latest trends and designs in the field of home interiors?
Staying updated on the latest trends and designs in home interiors and home decor requires a combination of research, networking, and continuous up-skilling. Access to online publications and blogs and even social media is an excellent source of inspiration for creators and designers these days. Attending industry events and conferences can provide insights into the latest trends and designs as well as what we could expect in future in home interiors
6: What do you wish to accomplish in the future for your business?
Focus on sustainability to a larger extent. Promoting sustainability requires a collective effort and as a business unit, our approach toward all our projects is highly client-centric and customized as per the client's requirements. Keeping this in mind, it's imperative for us to incorporate sustainable practises. Apart from using eco-friendly materials, designing energy-efficient spaces which in turn promote people to adopt sustainable lifestyles is what we are aiming for at FabModula, top interior designers in Bangalore.
7: How do you manage your work life and personal life?
As someone in this profession, there are occasions when I need to attend to my clients outside of regular working hours. But still, I make it a point to not compromise on my personal life and obligations as they say “You cannot pour from an empty cup".
8: What advice would you give to aspiring young women or your women counterparts who wish to become entrepreneurs?
I would like to emphasise the importance of financial independence. The ability to live life on your own terms without being dependent instils confidence and contentment that is unmatched through any other source. The change that we want India to see in terms of women’s empowerment and gender equality, should start from our homes, from each one of us.
